Latest Sales figures from Sony, Microsoft and Yes even Nintendo....BIG DEAL!!!

Everyone's been whining about who's sales are topping who's, and we all know Sony has been in a slight lead over Microsoft and an even bigger lead over the waning Wii-U.

So what!!! if gamers would just realize how important it is to have as many companies as possible in the gaming business everyone would be alot better off.
No one wants any one company to have a monopoly on gaming hardware, why? so that company can charge whatever they want for hardware and games?

No chance in hell, who wants that?, anyone who considers themselves a gamer genuinely loves all genres of games and would gladly own all consoles if their budget allowed, of course.
However watching NPD reports and VGChartz.com and constantly having a pulse on console sales numbers is not only ridiculous but pointless.
We all benefit from the variety and choice of multiple consoles and their own unique exclusives, why, it just wouldn't feel right to play Super Mario on a Playstation or Ratchet & Clank on an Xbox, it doesn't fit, it's just wrong.
I for one try to enjoy every console and the games they offer to the limit of my budget, No one can tell me that because of drooping Nintendo sales on their latest console, that they should infact throw in the towel and bail out of the hardware business altogether.
What on earth for?, why just last gen they dominated the console market in sales for the first 3 years, with the Wii and now just because lighting didn't strike twice for them, they should all of a sudden hang it up and just make their first party games for the current top selling consoles?, thats ridiculous and foolish.

For all we know Nintendo could be working on a different piece of hardware right now, be it a new iteration of the 3DS or the Wii-U and it could be a huge improvement on it's current version. One just never knows what the future can bring, and it's way too early to jump ship and start spreading hateful wishes of leaving the console race for Nintendo.
Does anyone realize that Nintendo is the only company left that only derives it's profits from gaming hardware and software?
Microsoft has it's Windows O.S. and Office, and other software, Sony has it's entire electronics division such as TV's, Audio, Blu-ray players, computers and so on, but good ol' Nintendo is the only pure video gaming company left, Sega and Atari have long since gone the way of the Doh Doh and just produce software titles.
How sad is that? For most of us who were around at the time, some of our fondest memories come from laying on our living room floors in the late 70's to mid 80's playing Atari and Sega consoles and loving every minute of it, now i may be a bit nostalgic, but so what, i say Nintendo should push on making hardware for as long as it's finances allow, and we should all appreciate them while they still do.
I used to have my preference of consoles more than once over the years, even participated in the system battles in various forums on the web, but eventually realized how pointless it was, i always played games on each and every console thats ever existed and i've enjoyed them all.
I'll continue you to do so, even when i start aging along with Nintendo, and i also won't throw in the towel because my child or grandchild for that matter someday thinks i should because of my age.
Playing video games just might keep you feeling young, and there's no better feeling than that i.m.o.
